What is the “Facility Benefit Period” in a Long-Term Care Insurance Policy?

Facility Benefit Period = is used to calculate the limit of how much the policy can pay over your lifetime in facility benefits.  This is sometimes referred to as the “policy limit” or  the policy’s “maximum lifetime benefit“.  It is usually described in terms of “years of benefits”.
